“Fabulous customer service. Really enjoyed our SUP experience to Hurst Castle.
We’ll definitely be back for another go!”
“What value for money the Hurst Castle Experience was, and Sean was a great instructor.
Can't wait to do more!”
Fancy an amazing family day out and a truly unique exploring experience?
You’ll meet your New Forest Paddle Sport Co. instructor at Keyhaven Quay, where your group of 2-6 people will be coached across the water to the historic Hurst Castle sandspit.
On arrival to the castle, you’ll be met by your bags and dry clothes, before sitting down to a lunch at the castle cafe. We can thoroughly recommend the cakes!
After exploring the Tudor coastal fortress (swot up on the castle here before you arrive!) and enjoying views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight, you’ll take a boat trip back to Keyhaven through the beautiful salt marshes.
All abilities are welcome on this experience, as our instructors will be coaching you all the way there.
For children we recommend 12 years old as a minimum for paddle boarding due to the distance
and for under 10's double kayaks.
Adult Tickets £50 – Child Ticket £40.
Under 18’s must be accompanied.
Your Experience Includes:
SUP or Kayak hire.
Instructor-led paddle from Keyhaven Quay to Hurst Castle.
Entry to the Hurst Castle.
Lunch from the castle café.
Ferry journey home to Keyhaven Quay.
Our tours run on Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday from April 1st - October 31st 2020, weather and tide permitting.
However, if you need an alternative date do get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.
This experience is also available as a gift voucher.
Is there a minimum age for children to take part?
For paddling on their own equipment we recommend a minimum of 8 years old.
Younger paddlers than this can sit in a double kayak, though we would still suggest a minimum of 6 years old.
Can non-paddling family members meet us at the castle?
Absolutely! There are two options for reaching Hurst Castle;
by ferry from Keyhaven Quay, or walking along the 1.5 mile spit.
Do we get a choice of lunch? Can allergies be catered for?
You have the choice of lunch when arriving at the castle, just place your order at the cafe. If you have any dietary requirements please contact us beforehand so that the castle chefs can prepare options for you - all ingredients are transported to the cafe by ferry each day.
Are there toilets/changing rooms at Hurst Castle?
There are simple toilets for getting changed at the castle.
Although not luxurious, these are cleaned regularly and easily accessible near to the café and the beach.
