Environmental Work
Lymington Town Quay Litter Pick

It almost goes without saying that the beautiful natural environment where we paddle is of the upmost importance to us as a business.

We’ve been so pleased to see the increase in sustainability awareness over the last few years, and of course have been looking for ways to ‘do our bit’ in the way that The New Forest Paddle Sport Company is run.

On a local level, we are registered with SAS Plastic Free Lymington and SAS Plastic Free Milford-on-Sea as a sustainable business. As well as making pledges about our own environmental impact, we have jointly run litter-picking and awareness events in Lymington and Christchurch.

We take a team of volunteer paddlers out on the water to collect rubbish from our own paddling waters. These events have been fantastic for getting people engaged and talking about the problem locally.

We work with Ecologi to plant a tree for every lesson booking with us from July 2020 onwards!

This will help us to look after our natural world by working with partners who can use the money from your booking to help plant trees here in the UK and world wide working with the  The Eden Reforestation Project!

We are so excited by this to give something back to the natural world and we hope you will not only feel great being on the water with us but also feel good in the knowledge that your booking has helped to plant a tree and reduce the CO2 levels around the world!

We also work with the New Forest National Park Association,

bringing a different perspective to our local plastic problem.

Most people think of the open forest health-land of our National Park,

but there is work to be done protecting our coasts from pollution as well.

On a national level, we are proud supporters of the Surfers Against Sewage 250 Club

check out the work they do here!

In sourcing stock for our shop we love to get behind products like

the Starboard Eco Boards and recycled clothing from Passenger.

Even small actions like using paper bags in the shop will add up to make a difference,

as well as forming good habits for us all to start living by.

If you’d like to learn more about what we do, get in touch or pop in and see us in store!
